Keeping Your Account Safe

Simple, everyday habits to keep your Fyldit vault rock-solid — and how to leave if you ever want to.

The big picture

Fyldit is built like a bank vault: your stuff is locked up the moment you save it, and only you have the key. But — like a real house — a few good habits make it even harder for anyone to get near your front door.

Don't worry, this isn't a long checklist. It's just five small things, and you'll never have to think about them again.

Five things to do today

1

Use a strong, unique sign-in password

Your sign-in password gets you to the front door. Pick one that's long, not used anywhere else, and easy for you to remember. A password manager can help.
2

Turn on two-step sign-in

When it's on, even if someone knew your password they couldn't sign in without your phone. Look in Settings → Security to switch it on.
3

Verify your email address

We use your email to send you safety alerts. Make sure it's confirmed so important messages reach you.
4

Set up your Trusted Circle Key

Your safety net if you ever forget your Master Key. It only takes a few minutes — see the full guide.
5

Pick a Master Key you'll remember

Make it a sentence, not a word. Write it down once and store it somewhere safe at home — tips here.

Everyday habits that keep you safe

  • Sign out when using a shared or public computer
  • Watch for fake emails — Fyldit never asks for your Master Key
  • Keep your phone or laptop screen locked
  • Update your phone's software when it asks you to
  • Use Face ID or fingerprint on your phone for quick, private access

Changing things in your account

Change your sign-in password

Settings → Security. We'll ask for your current password for safety, then you can pick a new one.

Change your email address

Settings → Profile. We'll send a confirmation to the new email to make sure it's really yours.

Change your Master Key

Settings → Security → Master Key. You'll need your current Master Key to set a new one — that way only you can do this.

Sign out from everywhere

Worried you left yourself signed in somewhere? Settings → Security → Sign out all devices. You'll need to sign in again everywhere.

Leaving Fyldit — deleting your account

You can leave anytime. We'll delete your account and everything in it, and there's no way to get it back — so please download anything you want to keep first.

To delete: Settings → Account → Delete account. For your safety, we'll ask for your password and send a confirmation code to your email.

Common questions

What does two-step sign-in do?
When you sign in, after your password you'll be asked for a short code from an app on your phone. Even if someone stole your password, they couldn't get in without your phone.
What should I do if I think someone's got into my account?
Sign in, change your password right away, sign out all other devices, and turn on two-step sign-in if it isn't already. Then contact support so we can help check things over.
Will Fyldit ever ask me for my Master Key?
No — not by email, not by phone, not by chat. Anyone asking is not from Fyldit. Real Fyldit support can only help with things that don't need your key.
Can I take a break instead of deleting?
Yes. Downgrade to the free plan if you only need a small amount of storage, or just stop signing in. We'll keep your locked vault safe until you come back.
If I delete my account, what happens to people who depend on it?
Anyone in your Legacy Circle, anything you shared, and your Trusted Circle Key all stop working immediately. We'll let them know that the items they were linked to no longer exist.
