When It's Time

How Fyldit gently passes your vault on to the people you love — only when the moment truly comes.

The kindest goodbye

One day, hopefully far away, the people in your Trusted Circle will know it's time. When they do, they'll let Fyldit know. After your circle agrees — and only after a fixed 72-hour (3-day) safety window — the documents you saved for each beneficiary are released.

No paperwork races, no missing folders, no scrambling through drawers. The right things simply arrive with the right people.

What we ask before this can happen

  • • A paid plan (Personal+, Family, or Family+)
  • • At least 3 people in your Trusted Circle who have accepted
  • • A Legacy Circle with the documents you want to leave

How it happens, step by step

1

A loved one lets Fyldit know

Someone in your Trusted Circle signs into Fyldit and tells us the moment may have come. They share a brief note about what happened. That counts as the first confirmation — other contacts are emailed without being told who raised it.
2

You are notified immediately

Fyldit emails you straight away with who raised the report and what they said. You also get an in-app alert on your dashboard where you can reject the report with one tap if it's a mistake.
3

Your circle confirms together

Other trusted contacts are asked to confirm independently. No single person can act alone — it takes three of them agreeing.
4

Your 72-hour safety window begins

Once enough contacts have confirmed, nothing releases yet. A fixed 72-hour (3 full days) countdown starts. This is your last chance to reject the report from your dashboard.
5

The right documents reach the right people

If you do not reject during those 72 hours (and no dispute is blocking release), each document in your Legacy Circle is gently delivered to the person you chose for it.

How to stop a mistaken report

  • You (the owner) can reject at any time before release — while confirmations are still coming in, during the 72-hour window, or while a dispute has paused the process.
  • Any trusted contact can dispute the report. That pauses confirmations and the countdown until they withdraw their dispute or you reject outright.
  • If a dispute is withdrawn and enough of your circle still agree, a fresh 72-hour window starts.

The safeguards built in

No one acts alone. Three trusted people must agree before the safety window even starts.

72-hour safety net. Even after your whole circle confirms, nothing is released for 72 hours. One tap from you stops it.

Disputes pause everything. A trusted contact who disagrees can freeze the process until it is resolved.

Always notified. You learn who raised the report; other contacts are notified anonymously.

A full record. Everything that happens is logged on your vault activity timeline.

Common questions

How long do I have to stop it?
Until release. At minimum, you always get 72 full hours after enough of your Trusted Circle have agreed — unless a dispute is active, which pauses the clock.
What if a trusted contact disagrees?
They can dispute the report from their trusted-contact portal. That pauses confirmations and the 72-hour countdown. Only you can cancel the report outright by rejecting it.
Can documents be released while a dispute is active?
No. An active dispute blocks both new confirmations and release until it is withdrawn or you reject the report.
Can someone trigger this maliciously?
They can try — but the multi-person confirmation, 72-hour window, dispute pause, and instant alerts to you make it very hard to succeed. You always have a path to stop it.
What if my Trusted Circle is too small?
You need at least three accepted Trusted Circle members. We recommend four to five for flexibility.
Does Fyldit ever read my documents during this?
Never. We deliver encrypted items to the right people. Documents stay sealed until each beneficiary opens them with their own Master Key.
